William Wiley has had a prolific artistic career spanning over 4 decades. His work is considered "unclassifiable" and ranges from Funk to Conceptual in approach, and his prints often uses traditional tools and techniques in unorthodox ways. Prolific and diverse, Wiley explores painting, drawing, sculpture, watercolor, theatre and filmmaking.

William Wiley received is B.F.A. and M.F.A. from the San Francisco Art institute. His first solo exhibition was held at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in 1960. Wiley's work is held in the permanent collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of Art, the Walker Art Center, among others. Wiley also possesses a fondness for education and taught at the University of California for over a decade.
