Paul Booker

1970 Born in Dallas, TX
1995 B.F.A. University of Texas at Austin, TX
2000 M.F.A. University of North Texas, Denton, TX

Paul Booker completed his B.F.A. at the University of Texas at Austin prior to receiving his M.F.A. in painting and drawing for the University of North Texas where he received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award. Booker currently lives and works in Dallas , TX.

Paul Booker's installation work, obsessively arranged and composed of transparent plastic, gingerly installed directly on walls with hundreds of straight pins, is one of repeated individuals that swarm and mass to gradually transform into a vast composition that appears to be multiplying outwards.

His paintings use layers of polyurethane to hint at the depth and transparency reached in the installations. However, his paintings focus on mark, much as daVinci's drawings of a deluge or a swirl in an aerodynamic diagram.
